We are so proud of Searah’s Camhaior A’Herne, “Dawn,” our first purebred Connemara filly born at Elhanan March 26th, 2020 by Greystone Adirondack A’Herne out of Searah’s Celtic Legacy and bred by Kathy Trum-Searah. Dawn had an exceptional year in 2023, first earning Premium Mare at her Westfalen NA inspection with judges remarking, “Good type, solid conformation, feminine, walk with rhythm and stride, trot elastic, smooth with enough stride, easy, balanced canter.” Dawn then performed remarkably well at the Southeast Championships winning 3rd place in Three Year Old Fillies against the warmbloods. We finished up the year with the 2023 USDF All-Breeds DSHB American Connemara Pony Society Champion Three Year Old Filly of the Year, and 2023 USDF DSHB 8th Place Three Year Old Filly of the Year - again against warmblood horses. We have high hopes for this lovely mare’s future.
Greystone's Adirondack A'Herne, (Rosenaharley Laurens x Hideaway's Smitheranne) or “Harry” a 14H bay Connemara stallion approved by both ACPS and Weser Ems by the GOV. He is a fantastic mover and was voted Connemara stallion of the year in 2011. Harry made his mark in the show ring, winning more than 50 champion or reserve champion driving titles and numerous year-end awards. Harry served as an ambassador of sorts for the breed, representing Connemara ponies at both the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games as well as Equine Affairs in Massachusetts, and making an appearance on stage at the “Martha Stewart Show.” Sadly Harry passed away in the summer of 2023.
Searah’s Celtic Legacy, "Penny" is a 2016 14.2H gray Connemara mare by Tullymor’s Mountain Thunder out of Good Earth Victory Go Bragh by Hideaway’s Erin Go Bragh X Grange Finn Sparrow. Tullymor’s Mountain Thunder, by Tullymor’s Flying Ace out of Kahula, “Delmar”, born June 22, 1999, is 14.1 H with an impressive 8.5in bone and is a wonderful stallion who’s offspring are exceptional movers with excellent conformation.
Penny’s dam sire, Hideaway Farm’s talented stallion Erin Go Bragh was undoubtedly one of the most well-known Connemaras in recent history. Despite his size—about 15.2h—he was an immensely successful eventer, and in a competitive career that spanned more than a decade, Erin Go Bragh represented the Connemara breed in driving as well as eventing. In addition to competing successfully at Advanced level, he also sired more than 200 foals, had a starring role in the children’s documentary “The Little Horse That Could”, and received the honor of being named Breyer Horse of the Year in 1988. Erin Go Bragh passed away in 2013 but his descendants continue his legacy of athletic success.
Penny’s Granddam’s sire, Grange Finn Sparrow, had two of his offspring made it to the 4* level, contesting Rolex Kentucky, and many, many more competed at the upper levels. Seven offspring, both purebred and halfbred Connemaras, made it to the Advanced level. He has sired individuals that competed in upper level dressage, one of whom was in Lendon Gray's Dressage 4 Kids program; top jumpers, Pony Finals contenders, foxhunters and even a son that competed on Allison Stroud's famous four-in-hand driving team.
Dawn is going well walk, trot, canter under saddle, and she is a beautiful mover with just the right amount of spice. This pony has definite FEI potential, and is best suited for an experienced rider in a program, but she is fancy enough for a pro. Dawn is showing in the ribbons at Intro Level Dressage in schooling shows. She leads, ties, loads, bathes, is good for farrier and vet, and travels well. She is the same pony on and off property. Dawn has popped over a few cross rails and easily trail rides alone or with company. Dawn has a solid and correct start by a pro and is ready to go in any direction, or she will make an outstanding choice for your breeding program. Future plans include continuing her professional dressage training and show career, and should she stay with us, a purebred breeding as well as breeding to a German Riding Pony stallion.
Located in Hodges, SC. $30,000 subject to change with training and miles. Special consideration given to a show home or breeding program.
